Dr. Batras' Positive Health Foundation

The CSR arm of Dr. Batras’ Positive Health Clinic Pvt. Ltd. (DBPHCPL)

Dr. Mukesh Batra, Founder and CMD, DBPHCPL, started the Positive Health Foundation in 2001. The Foundation was launched by former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh with the following key objectives:

  • To provide funds for the treatment of needy and deserving patients
  • To give scholarships to deserving students pursuing studies in Homeopathy
  • The fund aims to benefit maximum number of people. The entire procedure has been kept simple and to the bare minimum, to ensure that people are benefited quickly and with minimum effort.

How we generate funds?

The Foundation believes in the '1% formula'. According to Dr. Batra, the '1% Formula works 100%'. Every employee of DBPHCPL contributes 1% of his salary to the Foundation every month. Over and above this, 1% of the organisation’s net profit is contributed to the Foundation, and the Company’s vendors are also requested to donate 1% of their income towards this Foundation. This way, the Foundation has never accepted grants/funds from any organisation/person in the last 8 years!

Key Activities

Eight years down the line, the Foundation has grown manifolds in terms of the activities undertaken, all for a cause. Following are the key highlights:

  1. Free Treatment
Usually, on the first Monday of each month, one of our clinics, in each of the 17 cities in which we have our clinics, offers free consultation along with medicines to patients, irrespective of their identity, background, status, etc. On an average, approximately 350 patients benefit from this charity.

  2. Supporting the underprivileged
Our projects for supporting the underprivileged and the physically and mentally challenged are carried out in multiple cities all over India such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Baroda, etc.

  3. Promoting Education
In the field of education, the Foundation has made a significant contribution. It grants scholarships to deserving students who want to pursue studies in the field of Homeopathy but are unable to pay the fees. The course fee for the entire five and a half years is taken care of by the Foundation with no strings attached and without any future benefits (no signing of bonds, etc.)

  4. Homeopathy for Animals
When Dr. Batra’s joined hands with animal activist Maneka Gandhi, Trustee, People For Animals, it was for the first time that animals were being treated through Homeopathy over there.

Today, more than 900 dogs and cattle are regularly and successfully treated free by Dr. Batra’s team of doctors through Homeopathy at the Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre in New Delhi, which is one of the 27 animal shelters that People For Animals operates.

People For Animals have acknowledged the fact that Homeopathy successfully treated many animals and it is the best medication for them. Homeopathy has also treated complex syndromes such as ‘separation anxiety’ among animals.

  5. Positive Health Awards
In 2006, Dr. Batras’ Positive Health Clinics celebrated 25 years of existence; and to celebrate this landmark, the Foundation institutionalized the ‘Positive Health Awards.’ These awards are an annual tradition of recognizing individuals who have created medical miracles through the demonstration of their instinct for survival, courage and will power, beaten the odds and recovered from seemingly irrecoverable conditions, to lead normal, healthy lives. These awards are also a way of honoring the spirit of life and re-affirming the Company’s commitment to all round health and positivism.

  6. Annual Photography Exhibition
The proceeds of our Annual Photography Exhibition directly go to charity.
Thus, Dr. Batra's has adhered to a responsible business model by deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making. We actively promote public interest by encouraging growth and development of the community in every possible way.
